Singapore was ranked as the best place to live in Asia for expatriates and 25th best in the world in the 19th Quality of Living survey by consulting firm Mercer's released on Tuesday (Mar 14), reported by ChannelNewsAsia .
Two other Asian cities that made in higher position after Singapore are Japan's Tokyo and Kobe, ranking at 47th and 50th place respectively.
Apparently the ranking is based on many information and also services that each city offers such as the supply of electricity, drinking water, public transportation, mailing services, daily necessities as well as the availability of international flights.
Mercer's 2017 Quality of Living survey of 231 cities helps companies and organisations determine compensation and hardship allowances for international staff. It uses dozens of criteria such as political stability, health care, education, crime, recreation and transport, as StraitsTime.com writes.
