Videos of waterspouts near Penang Bridge has gone viral on social media on Tuesday, shocking Malaysians because this phenomenon was pretty uncommon in the country.
In the video clips, motorists were seen to be cautious to see the phenomenon with their own eyes where some halted their vehicles to let it pass.
“This is the first time I’m seeing this although I have heard about it before,” commented by a netizen in his video.
No casualty was reported as the Fire and Rescue department unit did not receive any report.
This isn’t the first time a waterspout appeared in Penang.
Waterspouts can occur at any place all over the coastal regions, which explains why waterspouts have been spotted in Penang, Sabah and Sarawak before.
